I have a 02 Cooper and an 03 S, I have also driven several other MINI's including the CVT. Unless they come up with a new software change, you will not be happy with the drive by wire throttle. Off the line these are old slow dogs. With AC on old slow turtles. Get them up over 2500 rpm's and now you can have some fun. Glad to hear your keeping the Miata I can fit 4 cars in my 2 car Garage Sanity is relative

>>Don't get me wrong I am not bashing the MINI before I even get it. One of the big reasons for even getting the MINI is becuase there is a good history behind it.

Are you joking? .......There's NO history behind this new MINI. That said, I love mine (April 2002) and have had nothing go wrong yet, Cross my legs and hope to die!

BTW....it's "because".

When I speak of history I am speaking of the earlier Mini's and their success as a Rally car and excellent people mover.

Sorry about the becuase... Hope you can forgive me for not being perfect...

What's going to bother me the most is having to pick my car up from the dealer if it is plagued with problems. I live 200mi from the nearest mini dealer and that's no stones throw. Im still getting the car, (2003 MCS in sept.) just hope I don't run into boat-load of problems.

I have 19000 miles in my MCS and I beat the crap out of it.... 18 mpg and the best days I get 21. No complaints so far, jsut the coolant bottle and the pasenger seat got stock, bot to my understanding those problems are fixed in the new model.

JUST GET THE CAR AN ENJOY...
