The Mini still handles the navigation, that part isn't broken to me, but we know how you feel on it. The other is just used to locate POIs. I feed the address into the Mini's system once I locate a POI.

Link? There is a picture of it, what else do you need, it's self explanatory!!

But here is a link to another thread which details another possible fix. But we are really waiting for MINI to fix it.

Birdman is making a funny. Minidrv is apparently using a Garmin handheld to locate POIs.

Not really!! There is NOTHING "funny" about this. Sad and embarrassing come to mind, but not funny.

Schweeeet

I've found that the tedious are generally unaware of their own tedium.

Well it's a 'funny' because you stated it's a software fix, yet it is not a software fix. It is a workaround.

Using a seperate device to find POIs is no more a 'software fix' than a poor OEM GUI (which has operated the same way since 2002) is 'broken'. YMMV, of course.
So what's the latest from your inside contact at MINI who told you that a fix was in process and your attorney?

Nice try, but I did not say I had a "software fix". The title states we have a fix, for the broken software. and yes, the fix, is a "workaround", a workaround the broken software which MINI will eventially fix.

I speak/meet with my inside BMW contact about 1 every year, sometimes less. So the next time I speak with him, I'm sure I'll be thanking him for the update. What about my attorney? If your asking if my real estate attorney is busy right now, no. I am not active with any real estate, but thanks for asking. Although my wife and I are thinking about buying a Ski condo up at Killington. I guess I'll need him for that.

Anyhoozle.

Not 'trying' anything.
One can read the title as
broken nav <pause> software fix
or
broken nav software <pause> fix

I read it as the latter.

Guess I don't understand why you ask people here if there are any updates if you've got a contact on the inside. Not to mention that as the issue seems quite important to you, it would seem you'd be as interested in finding out from him as you are from us as opposed to whenever it happens. Whatever.

As for the attorney, I was speaking of this quote of yours from Nov 8, 07

Birdman I'd suggest fixing your title so it's not misleading. I'd be more than happy to change it for you if you like.

I would also appreciate that there are no more new threads from you Birdman on this topic. Your constant relentless barrage of posts on this issue is exhausting enough without having to deal with it in multiple threads.

Any new threads you start on this will be closed. Permanently. Please keep it to the threads you've already started.

Will do. BUT, common, you can't tell me this picture wasn't worth posting??? It CLEARLY demonstrates how bad this problem is. It's also funny, but in reality, it is NOT funny at all. It's embarrassing. And MINI/BMW had better fix this pronto.
