Engine wants to die whenever I turn quickly??

Here it is:

whenever I take a "sporty" turn, the engine wants to stall (no power) just like it does when the DSC shuts the engine... but the DSC is turned off...

In straight line, it is all good...

A really annoying problem...

Anyone got an idea??

Which direction? Is there enough oil in the engine? My only thought is that there is not enough oil for the pick up when you take a hard right turn. But then again, you would have to have only a few quarts to get that to happen - the oil pickup is very low in the pan. Judging from your mods, you are a person who cares for cars and checks oil every week, so I'm sorry I can't think of anything els.e.

Could it be a failing electric steering pump adding resistance to the alt?

I know if I sit in the garage and turn hard right or left the RPM drops about 100 to 200 points

Oil is fine. thanks for pointing this out.

Power steering pump. I know the power steering pump is not drawing power from the engine via a pulley, but if it's drawing too much power, will this make the engine want to stall??

Thanks for any help! I am completely lost and still believe it will be fixed with a cheap solution... Just ordered DT BBK and that annoying problem showed up the next day. :-(

Low on gas??
Can't think of anything else that would cause it.
When you say 'sporty' does that mean wheels are losing traction? You've got LSD, so it's not wheelspin...

The first time it happened, I was low on gas, but I filled it yesterday morning and it's still happening...?? :impatient

Yeah I have a LSD, but the engine seems to cut itself before any sign of wheelspin or LSD activates...

This problem is driving me nuts! lol This afternoon, my garage will change the fuel pump's seals because the passenger's side has some leaks signs... I don;t know it this has a link to my issue but I'll see...

Feel free to give any opinion or tip that would help me!!

Thanks !!

This is an old idea. Have heard quite a while ago ( decades ) of a bad coil. They at least used to be oil filled. There were cases where in turning a corner all oil sloshing to one side would basically disrupt the coils output. Although this was said to lead to having to restart the car. Don't know about the MINIs coil or how to check it though.

Glad to hear you got it fixed, I was just about to point you in the direction of a guy having this problem at Sebring last summer.

The seal was $15 from a MINI dealer. My garage charged me 1 hour of labor, but this includes the troubleshooting and the installation of the seal... Honestly, I think it is a great deal since they spent 2 hours looking at everything, from the power steering system to the DSC sensors... Props to Arthur @ Euro Auto Tuning for the great service!
