Is This Normal?

Hi I was taping the sound of the exhaust but after watching the video I saw that there was a lot of smoke coming out just after I started my Mini and was about 2000rpm.

It is normal??

That's just condensation in the exhaust pipe. No worries.

Judging by your lack of licence plate this is a brand new car. That exhaust is normal and absolutely harmless. Will go away when you break in the engine.

You don't think it looks a tiny bit blue? (I swear I smelled the exhaust fumes as I watched.)

What was the temperature when you started it? Was it a cold start or a restart?

I saw oodles of smoke / vapor / stuff behind my 2day old MINI this morning and i was surprised. Figured it was just "it's 7am and it's cold outside" vapor.

I recognized this same thing in mid-70's weather when I first got my MINI. Freaked me out as I saw it after accidently exceeding 4500 RPM's during break-in. Had myself convinced that I'd ruined my brand new baby.

If your MINI continues doing this in warm weather as you get further into break-in I'd consider getting it checked out. Could just be normal though, I honestly don't know. I found my MINI pouring smoke out the muffler today after the engine was already off. It's in the low 30's here so I didn't think much of it.

I hope you meant "surely," not "surly." We get enough of the kind of service these days as it is!

Didn't look blue to me, and it dissipated way too quickly to be any kind of smoke.

Water vapor, but the OP is free to be as paranoid as they want.

that really looks like crap to me, just to be honest. i would have already taken it to the dealer. i have never seen a car do that except for the ones that are 20 years old.
