OK guy/gals - I am a newbie here and just got my Mini yesterday - On the way home we stopped several times - opened the tailgate and closed it... twice. Each time the tone sounded and the little image came on telling me that the tailgate was open/not closed. stopped got out - gate closed - opened and closed again... all is fine... so, what am I doing wrong here... I have read the manual but so far can not find anything??

 

yeah mine is like that, you have to close it a little harder then you think. Just give it a good push when you close it.

Sometimes it looks closed but not did not fully engage the lock. You can hear the click sound when it is fully closed.

 

Yep, you gotta slam that puppy down.
