Rattle in rear sway bar link R56

I have a rattle coming from a rear sway bar link. When the car is rocked side to side it is very pronounced on the right side. I can easily slide the sway bar through the grommets that hold the sway bar in place and was wondering if this is normal? When I do this I notice that the top of the sway bar links move in and out with the sway bar. Has anyone encountered this problem, and if so what was the fix

First I've heard of it - although not uncommon if you've upgraded to an aftermarket rear sway bar and the bolts are not completely tightened.

Depending on how far you are from a dealer your options are take it in and get it fixed or crawl under the car, inspect and tighten the bolts if you're handy. I personally would take it to the dealer.

tighten it. when I took mine out to replace with a 19mm adjustable one it was very tight so I tightened very tight as well.

I had some noises from the rear of the car recently, so made an appointment to have it looked at. Took the car in this morning and was told the sway bar was loose at the bushings and they would order the parts to fix it Monday. Could not give a reason this happened, so I just took a loaner and should get my car back Monday evening. 6000 miles on odometer, and all parts are stock.

As promised the parts came in on Monday and I picked up my car after work. The invoice says they replaced 2 stabilizer supports and 2 rubber mountings, and also washed my car for me, so I was pretty happy with the service which was covered under warranty. No rattle noise at all now.

I finally resolved the problem. I had new bushings put in under warranty. It seems the wrong bushings were put in at the factory. It seems to be a common problem that mini is not addressing unless there is a complaint.

Sorry for reviving an ancient thread, but can anyone tell me if this rattle sounded like it was inside the back of the car? I've got a rattle back there that is driving me nuts. I've pulled everything loose out and can't figure out where it is... if it's the swaybar, that'd explain why I can't find it inside.

Thanks!

I am getting this sound as well, just had springs and sway bar installed, took it back to them and made sure everything was tight. Still have this sound in the rear??

Someone mentioned replacing bushings through dealer under warranty?

Correct me if i am wrong, but doesnt the H&R sway bar come with its own bushings when getting installed into brackets?

Since i have aftermarket, sounds like the dealer may charge me ah?

Any thoughts?
