Here's My Laundry List of Problems - Please Post Yours

Here is a list of problems I plan to attack with my my dealer when I can get a loaner car.

-Persistent driver door/window wind noise after dealer had already adjusted window
-Door front edge chip (from rubbing with inside of frame)
-Misaligned driver door/beltline trim (possibly also related to above problem)
-Headlights aiming too low (standard halogens)
-Intermittent check engine light indicator
-Old software (hopefully an update will fix above problem)
-Rear car knocking sound when idle
-Loose rear tow hook cap
-Loose cup holder ring
-Sunroof noise (I will probably wait first to fix the driver window noise)

Falling in love (with my car of course) has made me OCD. Please post your own lists to help me feel better.

Group therapy is effective.

Not knocking you but is "old software" really a valid complaint.
I mean come on it is a 07'.
If you believe you SES has issues to software you may or may not be correct. there is a ton of things that can set off the SES.

Fair enough. Only found out about the SW update based on prior threads on this issue with the engine light coming on especially in R56 MC automatics. I agree something else may be going on.

I'll let yall know how my service trip goes next month.

only problems so far are the missing lower door seals, and with comfort access not working the way it should. Plus that old big rear view mirror.

This can be adjusted by the dealer. I had mine done and it makes a big difference.

You can adjust the xenons yourself. There are posts that tell you how. I adjusted mine 3/4 of a turn clockwise.

I had the software upgrade for the CEL, a fuse upgrade (cooling fan?...I forget, dealer just did it based on a service bulletin they had), and a piece of delaminating (rubber from chrome) beltline trim replaced. I'll get a new SZL sensor this week...that should bring me up-to-date on the mechanical fixes. Got a mild door-ding PDR'd away yesterday, so I'm good there, too. All this has in no way encumbered me from enjoying and exploring the drivability of my Cooper, though...I'm constantly delighted by the subtle nuances that distinguishes this car from my '03 (which I still have). Just lots of very little things that add up to make this a whole different kind of MINI. Better overall and I'm smitten...however if you plopped me back in my '03 and gave me a few hours, I'd probably fall in love w/ it all over again!!!

Funny...

I just posted my laundry list on another post. Should have done it here.

Mines way bigger than your's though.

For anyone having engine drivability/hesitation/service engine soon lights, ... Change your gas station. That has cured mine!!

My driver's side visor mirror light doesn't work. I will retain this problem however, for as long as possible, so that I can have some input on this forum. Other than that, I have nothing further to add to this conversation.

my **** is beginning to be reshaped by the recarro-clone seats. i don't think american ***** fit very well in british bolstered seats. i've resorted to a pillow, but my colleagues cruelly point and laugh when they see me arrive at work with a sadly misshapen ****.

The only problem I've encountered with my MCS is the speed. It is almost as quick as my 335i. What a blast !

I can't tell if my drivers window doesn't quite seal right, or if it is just wind noise. I hear it at around 75mph up. I also get a strange whistle that I think comes from up front... but again, not too sure. Either way, I notice these things because I'm OCD about the car... I LOVE IT!!!

1- Splooge stain on wheel arch; prep-tech tried to take it out with steel wool and made a smooth spot.
2- Passenger airbag turns itself off with adult sitting in seat. Often.
3- Smells like a burnt cat when you run it at high elevations, especially over 9,000 feet. You have to run it hard from 4000 to 9000 to get the odor.
4- Makes me giggle every time I romp on the gas peddle. I waste fuel as a result. I'm 6'5"; a man my size shouldn't giggle.

Use the search feature to find out what was wrong with my first R56...

I'm getting a rattle from sunroof. Seems to be coming from the headliner trim and not the sunroof though.

Not much of a list but,

Scratch on piano black drivers side elliptical ring

Scratch on rear valence (the black piece on the bottom of the bumper)

Passenger side window needs adjustment at rear top edge (sits too low; although the car is dead quiet inside so no wind issues)

Lack of seals on the bottoms of the doors (may have been a mid year change as many don't have them)

Lack of PAINT on the inside of the fog light holes in the front bumper

Dash panel below the steering wheel won't stay clipped in on the right side

All those things except the paint around the fog lights and the dash panel were discovered at delivery.

Everything is being resolved at my dealer with no issues so far.

Dropped off my car and got a MCS loaner

Thanks everyone for sharing.

Dropped of my car at the dealer today. They gave me a BR/W 2006 MCS as a loaner. Wish they didn't. I like the extra HP. At normal speeds though, I like the handling better with my 2007 MC. Besides the steering wheel and rear view mirror, everything is completely different, very disorienting. Also I couldn't fit my daughter's stroller in the boot.

I hope they can at least fix the driver door wind noise. I also started to hear an intermittent squealing sound when at idle only. Wish my car luck!

For now, I will enjoy the MCS.

I'm hoping I can get an MC loaner when I bring my MCS in for service. Like to see just how much difference there really is between the two with more than just a 10 minute test drive

Other than the fact that my MINI stalled on me (the dealer couldn't figure out what's wrong and it went away), when I started the car the other day and continued to press on the brake (mine is a MCSa), everything stopped working (the engine, even the radio) for a minute. I had to pull the key out and put it back in and restarted the car. I was able to start it. Last but not least, last time I pumped gas, the nozzle trigger stopped twice before the tank was filled up (what the heck?), and I thought it was filled up, but after only a couple of miles the gasoline indicator meter showed I was already down a notch? What is going on? The first year build I guess, always has relatively poor quality and quirky things?

operator error

There's nothing wrong with your gas gauge. Stick the nozzle all the way in, fill the car with YOU standing right there holding the gas ON. When it clicks off, WAIT about ten seconds to let the gas settle out/level in the tank. Then hit the gas again SLOWLY. When it clicks off the second time, it's really FULL.
Anytime you're pumping gas in at speed, ( handle full on) there's some turbulence that has to go away. This happens with any car to some extent, and can vary depending on how the filler tube is set up.
