I have a 2002 MCS and its out of warranty obviously... With that being said and me being somewhat new to the mini world, I have heard that if you take your mini up to a dealership you can check and see if there are any recalls on the car that they can replace If the previous owner didnt. Does anyone know of the recalls on the 2002 MCS.

 

If it is a RECALL, the repair can be done free of charge to you. If it has a BULLETIN, your expected to cover the cost of repair.... I not 100 percent if my wording is correct, but I believe this should help you.

 

Wifes car is identical to yours. Only recall that I know of is the air bag light . Comes on due to a failure of the seat sensors and is a free fix. They take out the pin connectors under the seat and replace them with butt connectors. Not pretty.

My 02 MCS was never recalled. The two recalls referenced were for small runs of cars.

I had two tech bulletins come into play.

My overflow tank was replaced and for those cars impacted the problem was found so fast that they were probably caught the first time the car came if for pre-paid service.

And I got my steering column swapped out because of a 'clicking' sound when cold....

Still have the 02 and the service peeps ain't told me anythin more

 

Re: The seat sensor recall, we recieved the letter from Mini and they have fixed it 4X. Temp to unsuccessful the first 3 and recently failing again.
