Driver's Door Problem

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you guys have had any problems with the driver's door similar to mine.

Whenever I try to lock the door and then unlock it using the inside door handle, the door decides not to open when i pull on it for a second time. Then I have to take apart the door panel from the inteior (pain in my ***) and push on a piece inside the door somewhere so that the door will open when I use the handle.

Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it?

You have already found what the problem is...the cable end housing at the lock actuator pops out of the bracket. I clean both the housing and receptacle off with a rag and brake clean and use a slight amount of epoxy to help stay in place. Never had one come back...100 and counting

Oh, and good job by the way finding it rather than just asking first

Hey guys, still haven't fixed this problem... I'm just making sure to not let anyone pull on the interior handles when the doors are locked... Also, I'm not sure whether or not this problem exists on the passenger's side door. Any help would be great!

What I need is for someone to explain chadtoolio's directions -- or even chadtoolio himself. Thanks again guys!

I think what he is saying is that the cable that connects your inside door handle to the actuator (the part that contains all the lock mechanisms) is pupping out. Take a look at the pictures I posted in this thread showing the actuator on the driver's side door (message# 60):

Your problem is most likely with #2 in those pictures. If you could "re-fit" the cable somehow, it should stay in place. There are number of threads similar to yours with tips, etc. Try searching with "door lock" or "actuator", you'll find them.
Good luck!

Thanks so much for your help so far, guys. I will tell you how it goes next time I open up my door panels, which wil be whenever my dark ones come in... When I update I will make sure to explain my problem and process completely, just in case someone else encounters this problem in the future.
