Service Bulletins?

Can anyone point me to a "master list" of service bulletins out on the R56? I used the search link, but can't seem to find everything all in one place for the '07s. I'd like to be armed BEFORE I visit my SA, since I always get the "it's never been reported" line...

you probably won't find such a list. I imagine only bmw/mini employees have access to it.

I think it's flippin' idiotic that in this day and age website designers design a site that requires a certain browser and OS. This leaves Mac users out that use Safari/Camino or Firefox. No Firefox and OSX but Netscape and Windows? Was this site designed in 1990?

Sorry, end of rant.

Price to access the Mini TIS Website -
$30 per day (24 hrs)
$240 per month (30 days)
$2500 per year

Ouch! I'll pass.

From the login page:
"Please note:

* MINI troubleshooting charts, guides and aids for diagnosis are integrated into MINI service tools. Stand-alone guides for troubleshooting are not available via this website.

* MINI does NOT support technician rebuilding of its transmissions, only limited repair and service, for example seals, gaskets, and sensors. Therefore, only limited transmission service information can be found at any MINI-authorized source, including this website.

* Car/Key Memory functions are not possible using Progman Online.

* US Market Only"

there REALLY needs to be a site/list that owners can access to review any possible problems to a model a owner may have to encounter.

its almost like they don't want to fix stuff....

do we even have a sticky thread for this? or a 'spy' inside the mini/bmw service world?

I've always thought Service Bulletins should be posted on Mini's Owner's Lounge. They aren't though...

I find it hard to get this sort of info from my SA, mainly because she does a search by VIN, and the computer selects the service bulletins applicable to my MINI. Not yours, or anyone else's. It makes it pretty hard to find out about bulletins that ought to be on a list or sticky. And when I ask about a particular problem, it's always something like "everything is up to date" or some such.

Service bulletins?

Don't be sorry JW34, I feel the same way. There's no good reason for shutting out Macs. When I find sites that do that, they just lose my business and I let them know it. In this case I'm not going to sell my Mini!!

any updates on a site or sites that have a list of all bulletins? I've been searching all day on here and it's a bit time consuming and I'm sure I'm missing out on some.

This is ridiculous...my mazda dealer's site had an updated list of ALL the service bulletins and recalls for my mazda 3....but MINI offers nothing.

*grumble*

And now I am starting to notice some odd issues/quirks with the car and trying to get honest info from MINI service is a pain. Thank god there is NAM....

i got rather excited with all the info but then realized there's nothing for the R56... ah well. The alldata site also no longer has anything on bmws or minis.

It's a great list, but keep in mind these are NOT for the R56. The posters were in 2006. Your key has the VIN number, and if it goes into their reader it will give updates for THAT VIN number. In other words, it will decipher between MC and MCS, and beginning of the production line and things that might have been phased in later (for example, the hood scoop). Give your SA your VIN number, and you might have more success.

Bummer.
There's a guy on that board that works at the Oxford plant.
I'll try and remember his name and maybe you can contact him...
There has to be a way somehow.

If Jeep can provide free Service Bulletin and recall info on their site why can't Mini?

Plausible deniability at the sales/dealership level...

Boy, 'taint that the truth! I could understand it in February, 2007, when there were only a few R56s in Houston, but it's a little old by now. I had a particular problem and got this line. A couple of weeks later, at a club meeting, another R56 owner had the same problem and got it, too. Now we laugh about it at each meeting. Then we get to work and find the threads in NAM so we can bring them to our SA's "attention."

Gets a little old, doesn't it?

I wrote Mini USA customer service and my main complaint was hearing from the SA's "I've never heard of that" and the new one " We cant duplicate the sound so there's nothing we can do now " .

My boot opens by itself now and the passenger airbag turns off while my wife is aboard.
Can't duplicate it at the dealer...

Hmmm. We've never heard of that before. And our tech can't duplicate the problem.

im not sure if that includes all tsb's. you have to search by make, model, year, and there wasnt any for 08. but there were 2 for 07 mcs.

I checked on my '07. Doesn't help a bit. What is a "rattle noise from engine"? Is it the direct injectors or something else? And the repair of the battery sensor doesn't tell me anything. Everytime I go in they claim they check all service bulletins. That, along with Hmmm. We've never heard of that before. And our tech can't duplicate the problem, make it a great day.

I guess I'm supposed to pay the fee to check it out.
