My husband spoke with my SA on Saturday and my vehicle is continually showing the fault so they are going to be replacing the shift mechanism in my MINI. The part is on backorder and not sure when it will get here. I should be hearing from him sometime today if it will be any length of time they will bring my vehicle back to me and when the part comes in they will schedule service. He told my husband that this problem will be affecting alot of the 2008 not sure if just automatic transmission ones or not. I wonder if MINI will have a recall.....

Most unlikely.

The BMW/Mini strategy of cost containment includes the not publishing of any service advisories and not conducting of any open recalls. In extreme cases they may conduct a so called silent recall.

Not to forget the refusal to make service manuals available for sale to the public in order to restrict knowledge that may help the customers in their dealings with the dealers.
