Has anyone opted for the sport suspension plus offered as an option on the Cooper? If so, is there a major difference (at least $500 which is the cost) between the standard and the plus? All Coopers I've tested had the "Plus" suspension on them.

 

I can't remember the exact differences, but it's mostly stiffer springs and possibly more aggressively valved dampers. I'm not sure if the sway bars are different diameters. You can get aftermarket springs and koni yellows (adjustable rebound) for a lil more than $500 and it'll perform better. If it's worth it depends on you and what your goals are. There's also koni and spax coilovers available, but those are significantly pricier. HTH.

 

Thanks for the input. I was finally able to test drive one without the "plus" suspension. I think I'll do without. I don't plan on doing any "racing" and really didn't notice any major difference between the two (at least for my purposes).
