Doesn't the new Mini have multiple airbags? I've always heard that small children should not be positioned near airbags. Does that make the Mini unsafe as regards small children?

 

The MINI has six airbags...2 forward, 1 in the side of each front seat and 2 side curtain airbags for head protection. The airbag technology in the MINI is the same that is used on the new BMW 7-series sedan. The airbag inflation varies depending on the severity of the impact. As for putting small children in the front seat...that should never be done in any car, regardless of size. Small children should not be at risk from airbag injuries if they are put in the back seat and are wearing their restraints.

As much as I hate to agree(I used to love driving with my dad in the front seat of our old datsun210) the kids should be in the back seat, were airbags are well away from them. The curtain airbag won't come down low enough to harm kids.
