Clutch covered under warrenty?
Clutch covered under warrenty?
Is the clutch really covered under warrenty for 3 years or 36K miles? I already had my mini in to get the chattering noise fixed from the flywheel and that was at 12K miles. I asked at that time what my clutch looked like and they informed me it looked perfect. I was hoping that they would not fix the chatter noise until I was closer to the end of my warrenty and then I was just going to have them replace my clutch. I always worry about my clutch everytime I drive the car. Its funny though as I have had many cars and never had to replace a clutch yet. I guess I just worry too much. I guess I will not worry as much if i know that its covered.
Thanks,
Ken

My suggestion to you is to learn how to use the clutch correctly and not worry about it as it should last 100,000 miles at least if you don't abuse it.

I got mine replaced at the dealership in Winston Salem. There was less than 1000 miles left on the warranty. It was all covered under warranty. They know i track my car often also. They have also replaced my engine under warranty.

Well... it really depends. Clutch is tricky because it is a wear and tear item. It is also difficult to determine the reason when it fails. You can burn a clutch within the 500 miles due to driver error, or you can have a clutch fail around 50K with factory design problems.
In my case (03 MCS), the clutch was replaced twice under warranty. First around 26K, second one around 52K (yes, even after the warranty ended, they replaced the whole thing for free). As I said it depends on the dealer, your motoring adviser, your service history (e.g., whether it's been an ongoing issue, etc) and the field engineer (in case it is an out-of warranty claim).
Having gone through 2 clutch replacements, I also worry about the clutch. Who knows, may be they got it right the 3rd time
Good luck!

mine was replaced under warrentee(29K.) along with the flywheel because of a noisy throw out bearing , made a noise like ooooort when first pulling out.No charge, no further problem (100k miles on the clock).Stick to your guns.
