IF IT'S NOT ONE THING, IT'S ANOTHER

Currently I have 2600 mile on my 07 MCS.
Since I took delivery on May 19th...
It's need a new rear main seal
had the fly wheel replaced
had the clutch/ throwout bearing replaced
had the tranny replaced

and now, at 1400 miles since the new tranny, it has developed the infamous 3-2 squeal!!!!!

originally tha tranny was replaced due to a loud "knocking" coming from the tranny

has anyone had any probs with the autos? I'm thinking of turning this one towards the Lemon Law and picking up an auto instead.

Can't really offer any help but wanted to tell you how sorry I am you're having so many probs. I would certainly go the lemon law route...no need to be dealing with all the unreliability issues.

Best of luck!!!!

You could try the fix my dealer applied for the 3 -2 squeal, (see thread below). It worked for me.

The problem is that's not a "fix" it's a band-aid
in another 1000 or so miles the clutch is just going to be glazed over again
You repeat that process enough times, and then you'll be replacing the clutch much sooner than normal.
MINI needs to come up with a different material for the clutch

I moved on from my problematic MT to the AT and haven't looked back.
It feels decadent to drive the AT at first but you get used to it. And the paddles are fun.

What is the loud knocking? Does it happen when changing gears?

The "knocking" only occured while sitting in neutral. When the clutch was depressed, the sound went away. with the bonnet down, it wasn't easy to hear unless you were in the cab with all the windows closed. with the bonnet up, it was just as loud as the direct injection noise.
