Bluetooth not working

After two months, something had to break....The bluetooth system system stopped working. Got in , started the MINI, and the nav screen display shows that Bluetooth is off. I turned it on, which I've had to do on a random basis in the past, and the system shows no previously paired phones. I try to re-pair my Treo, and it can't find the phone. I then try a Moto Razr, same result.

After resetting the ULF module in the MINI, I try again...nothing...Over the past month, the MINI would randomly drop the connection, which I chalked up to BMW's funky electronics. Now, I think that it was the MINI's way of telling me that the Bluetooth ULF was about to go South. It now randomly displays "Mobile Phone Prep Not Installed".

So, off to the dealer. I just hope that when they replace the ULF, that something else (like voice recognition) does not get screwed up in the process of re-coding the MINI.

My ULF is not sending any signal to the phone. How do you reset it? How did the dealer fix it for you?

there is a lot more info on bluetooth over in the NAV and Audio Section. as this is a problem with audio that is where this thread should be moved to.
