A/C UNIT GONE BERSERK
CAR: 2006 MCS
AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL
A few months ago with the system set at 72F and the outside temp at 85F, hot air started blowing fron the dash vents. After a few mins. the the cool air returned. This condition has been accuring on and off since.
First trip to the dealer - dealer could not duplicate therefore nothing was done. Problem continued (sometimes the air was ubearably hot). On the 2nd visit the dealer replaced the "Heat exchange sensor". I was elated, at last they found the problem. The next morning after driving for about 30 mins. the problem returned.
Called the dealer from my cell phone and gave him the bad news and, described in detail the variious temps. outside and my usual 72F for the climate control. Note: I always keep the system on AUTOMATIC
3rd visit dealer kept the car for 2 days and again stated that the problem did not acccur in the shop therefore there was nothing they could do. To add insult to injury they said and I quote "We believe you that's it is happening but unless we can duplicate the problem in the shop we can't fix it" and suggested I call MINI USA in the hopes that they will have an answer. I called and they had the same Talking PointsI am now stuck with a 2006 MCS that has an AC unit with a mind of its own.
Has anyone experienced this problem?
