I have an 04 MC stock with the sports package.
On many occasions when I turn LEFT into my driveway at home (and sometyimes at work), I get a loud pop that APPEARS to come from the suspension/body of the car. It seems to occur at certain angles or speed, and happens at the apex of the turn and is always a sinle pop/bang sound (not electrical). It is not always reproducible but does seem to happen at if my turn is a little "vigorous".
I thought about the mushrooming strut, but from my inspection, I cannot see any damage.
I am taking the car in because my window is sticking, and wanted to know if there is anything specific I should ask them to look at regarding this noise.
Any ideas?

 

Correction;
After looking at some pics on mushrooming, I believe I may have that distinctive bulging on the drivers side. Could the mushrooming be responsible for the popping sound I hear?

 

Same thing has happened to me in my 06MC, although not with any consistency. It also happened on my 95 Eclipse when it was new and it eventually disappeared, so I'm not fretting too much over this, but it would be interesting to get some opinions on it.

 

Its not a half shaft is it?

 

You know, I have a sound coming from my MINI on left turns. Seems like it's a squeak or rustle when I'm making slow left hand turns... Such as parking or making a U-turn. Any thoughts? I don't think it's mushrooming as there is no visible damage.
