Light tells me the door or hood or rear is open but it isn't open. It occurs most often during windy, rainy, and snowy days. But sometimes on a good day. Here is the clip from youtube.

Push out on your doors while standing still to see if you can get the light to stay on. If so, the door sensor isn't adjusted right.

 

i'm at work and i can't see the video but if you have the "open" light on is most definitely caused by your boot switch not closing right.

turn the car on and pull/push on the rear hatch to see if the light turns on/off. if it does, your latch needs be adjusted.
