dissatisfaction w/ 07 MINI
OK Chows4us,
I hate to go here, but that was unacceptable. Instead of apologizing to kakaa for your rudeness, you come on and try to justify it. Doesn't fly dude. Again, I hate to point this out, but there were grammatical errors in both your posts criticizing kakaa for the same thing! So who are you to jump on somebody for making a mistake or two? To top it off you attacked kakaa again by accusing him of not showing courtesy? Just because he made a couple of grammatical errors? Come on man! Just admit you were wrong and let's move on. You've probably already scared kakaa away from the site!

If I had a bit of a problem getting through it, imagine how hard it would be for a Crimean War Vet like our Octogenarian Chows to get through it.
Chows, just admit that your an old fogey and let's get this post back on topic, I certainly do not want to wipe Kakaa from this site.

The funny thing is, I have never met Kakaa but I'm almost 99.9% postive he is not French-Canadian and is probably the same decent as a large amount of Mini owners regardless of which side of the border we live.
BTW considering Quebec wants to be recognized as a separate nation it could almost be a serious insult to some

To be fair, Chows is one of the most helpful people on this forum. The OPs initial post is kind of hard to get through and I'm fairly young.

For the OP, if you had a new car an an internal spring was broken, I too would be very upset with MINI. It's hard not to be frustrated when you get something new only to find out its already broken. Not sure what to say or do other than ... have fun in the twisties and be thankful it's under warranty

And yes, WELCOME TO NAM

BTW, discussion on grammer in nothing new here. See https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...hlight=grammer
I first became acquainted with Kakaa at a very young age. I find it hard to believe that you have no knowledge of him..........
I still want your cool Fridge ... Are you selling them soon?
Dissatisfaction with your Mini?.. or your dealer?
Your Mini is a machine.. things happen to machines.. that's why we have warranties.
Personally, it sounds to me like your gripe is (should be) with the dealer, not the car.

Sure, make fun of Georgia all you want but they outlawed marrying your 1st cousin 5 years ago. At least we have a governor not a governator

Kakaa - did the dealer explain where the broken spring was? I'm hoping it was not in your valve train as I'd expect the engine to not even run if it was. But you said the engine was losing power which makes me think a valve stuck open or closed. Somebody else mentioned the timing chain tensioner - could offset valve timing and cause drop in power.
I tend to think that if the defective part was fixed than you should be good. If you still feel that it does not have proper power or runs funny than back to the dealer. Test drive some of their other cars so you can point out the differences.

The car has many springs in it. Specifically which spring was it? It may have been a major problem which may cause premature failure down the road or something which is minor and once fixed will not impact the car's life. What does the service report say? Thanks
