Not the type of news I like to read about but good to know.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I was talking with my salesman at Hank Aaron Mini about this. The sound is normal for the system but has generated complaints from some owners. He told me a new pump will be offered at no charge when the vehicle comes in for its first 10,000 mile service if the owner wishes. The new pump is said to be quieter than the current one.

This is true. I just got the 10,000 mile sevice. The pump is quieter now. But I didn't ask for the replacment, they just did it.

Gee...I've always loved that whine...it sounds like a mini-dolphin to me! LMAO!! I consider it a classic MINI quirk!
