03 MCS with 42k miles still under warranty?

Hello everyone,

I just bought a used 03 MCS with 42k miles. It's the first time I ever bought a car from a dealer. I'm just curious, I bought it as is, and it has 42k miles. Is this car still under factory warranty from mini? I don't remember whether the dealer mentioned this. What mileage do I have to reach or passed before the warranty expires/expired?

Thanks

Not likely. 4 years, 50K miles. Whichever comes first. My '04 has an in service date of Oct '03, so my warranty runs out this October.

It's possible though. The clock starts ticking when it was sold. Your vin sticker has a date of manufacturing. If it's late '03 it couldn't possibly have been sold early '03, so most likely has a little left. Even if early '03 it might not have been "in service" right away.

You can always drop in a dealer with your VIN, or 866-ASK-MINI and they should be able to tell you.

Thanks so much for the quick reply, I will call mini and find out if there is any warranty left.

~thanks again

You gotta love this forum, I've learned more on this forum with my last 2 posts, then all the questions I've asked the dealer

Really? If your dealer couldn't even tell you whether the warranty was still in effect, you'd better find another dealer!

If you run a carfax, of had in the apst, it will usually tell you the inital titling date, and warranty coverage would begin from there.
