a mouse noise???

I have a 2006 MCSa ( purchased in november of 06 ). Recently, I have been hearing a squeaking noise whenever i go over any bumps. Any ideas what is going on? (i have 17" runflats if that makes any difference, and the sport package which includes sport suspension) TIA

Thats more than likely normal. Being as new as it is, things haven't moved around and truly broken in yet. Or, it could also just be the plastic interior pieces flexing.

Even though it is only 6 months old, i have put almost 12000 miles on it.... does that rule out the break-in theory? I am hoping it will go away

Hmmm... I recently started hearing a squeaky noise coming from my MINI as well, probably within the last two weeks. With my top down, I can hear it coming from somewhere on the right side near the rear, and like yours mine also really only squeaks when I go over bumps. I only have 3000 miles on mine, so I hope it just needs break in!

To rule out any possibility that your door's windows aren't squeak/rubbing against the weather stripping (induced by the chassis flexing over bumps)....try applying some rubber protectant (preferably fortified with glycerin) on the weather strips. It will smear up the edges of the windows, but should cut-out any noise coming from here for a while...until it washes or wears off. Apply it at every car-wash session.
