Cooling Fan Running

Help! After running through the car wash my cooling fan is constantly on.
The only way to shut it off is pull the fuse under the bonnet. I can pull the fan relay under the bonnet but as soon as the fuse is put back in it turns on.
Any ideas??

Now you tell me!

Where were you when I needed you?

This actually happened Thursday so it has had plenty of time to dry.

Thanks

Sounds expensive, I have an appointment at the dealer Tuesday. I was just hoping it would be simpler. Thanks for the reply.

update

I just left the dealer much lighter in the wallet but fixed. New cooling fan assy., 60K maintenance, brake fluid flush, anti-freeze flush and fill, and had the lower spoiler replaced as I hit a Raccoon on the way to the dealer this morning.
Total Damage....$1543.94
I guess it could be worse, it might have been a deer...

Insurance would have paid under your comprehensive (most likely). It actually would have cost less to hit a deer.

The fan has a relay that is mounted inside a compartment on the fan assembly. I have seen a number of these relays "stick" and cause the same problem. If you have an early model that has the 2 connectors that go to the fan and you unplug the smaller connector and the fan still runs, you need the relay. That small connector is the wires to the control side of the internal relay. HTH,

Chad
