Specials for Mini Owners on MTTS

http://www.illinoisbestbbq.com/Welcome_Minis__.php

Mini owners on MTTS 2010 tour from Indy are welcome to take a break at Backyard BBQ in Greenup, IL Exit 119 on I-70. The owners are offering Free Large Drinks or 1/2 price Real Fruit Smoothies with the purchase of a BBQ entree. It's located just off the exit for EZ off & EZ back on. See link above for details and their menu.

We have eaten there often and the food and service is great.

That's very cool. I give them a lot of credit for the initiative. We're actually doing the Chicago-Indy-St. Louis loop as our bit of MTTS (can't really afford to do anymore), and I'd imagine we'll stop and give them some business just for the invitation.

Thanks for letting us know!

I'm leaving Wednesday morning for Kansas City, but for a few days I've been fighting the desire to drive "backwards". Can't wait to hit the road. I've got a toothbrush in my glove compartment. Can't think of anything else I'll need. O.K., socks, underware, a camera, and a bathing suit. But that's it.

Well, as much as I really wanted to stop, it was only 10am when we went past Greenup...just too early for BBQ. I did just see a photo posted via Twitter a few minutes ago that Jim McDowell from MINI gave them some business though!

Yep, 10am was kinda early , but they did have an excellent turnout. We estimated about 40-50 cars stopped - and yes Jim McDowell was a customer. The local newspaper ran with the event, so I will post the article as soon as it is printed.

Glad to hear that they had good business today. It was a shrewd decision to reach out the MTTS people like they did, and they were the only local business along the route that I know of that did that type of thing.
