Oil change

Our 2004 Mini Cooper S is ready for its first oil change since we got it. Do you recommend going to the mini dealer (not sure of price) or someone else? I would do it myself but if I have to purchase all the stuff from the dealer anyway might as well have them do it. I think it also has a bad motor mount as the vibration at idle is really bad.

Thanks.

We've had good luck with the Mini Dealer in St. Louis.

STL MINI

I have always had my oil changes done at the Saint Louis Dealership. It doesn't cost that much more to get it done right, it has been worth it to me. Another strong point is they get rid of the used oil in a responsible manor.
And you will be able to kill two birds with one stone..........get that motor mount checked into.

I just called and its $70 yikes! But since I have to get something else checked out I will let them at least do this first one and I will do the next one myself if the parts from them are not too terrible.

Oil Change

If you are a member of the STL MINI Club, you get 10% off of parts and labor. Remember the mini takes synthetic oil.

FYI-The MINI spec 5W-30 is I think $5.82/qt with club discount. Can't beat that price with a stick for a full synthetic! If you decide to go DIY I would look elsewhere for filters as they are a little pricey there even with club discount.

Good luck with the engine mount
