Cracked Windshield

Low and behold the dreaded windshield crack showed up on my 05 S.
yesterday, ran over to Bob Smith Mini this morning to have them look
at it ,covered under warranty the SA is excellent! between the
SA's at Long Beach Mini and Marny at Bob Smith i would choose Marny
Has far as being MOD friendly i think Bob Smith will work with you depending
on what was done

Safelite, they come to you! ask for a ppg glass, as I said before on other treads make sure to ask the installer to be careful with the pillar covers on and off.

#4 windshield !!!!!

Just don't go to Fast Glass here in my town as they broke both side panels getting my windshield off. I GUESS I've been hit by rocks without really knowing it. The Niello mini dealer wouldn't replace any of my 4 because they do that cute pen test and say, oh gee it stops here so that's the point of impact. It has been in the same place all times. Up on the left side black area goes down about 4 inches and then turns to the right towards the drivers side.I finally went to a custom glass place, no manufacturing defect found. Insurance will cover it but my deductible is 250 per incident.I just figure I'll buy a new windshield every 7 months or so. Good luck. Rainbow Blue

Some early coopers had a windshield problem,i think caused by basically inferior glass and partly the nature of the cooper body being so stiff.
The dealership's use the pencil point method of checking if the glass was
cracked by stress or a debris impact.if the pencil point catches in a impact
hole they say damage was caused by debris and not covered under
warrenty.By the way Rainbow Blue my crack is in the same place yours is
go figure
