Phoenix and I were contemplating coming down the night before the Dana Point/Ortega Hwy rally at the end of April. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for hotels in the area.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

My ex-girlfriend's house in Laguna Beach - her bed's usually open to strangers.

Just a joke... anyway, what kind of hotel are you looking to set up? Someplace inexpensive? There's a really nice Marriott in Laguna Beach that's just a few minutes from Dana Point. And there's always the Ritz Carlton!

Laguna Beach is a much more centralized city than Dana Point and very close (its about 3 miles from downtown to the city limit). Dana Point is pretty much just a quiet suburb - no real activity going on there.

Hahaha you beat me to the Ritz Carlton...hehehe lol My old roomate used to live in Dana Point, and my Art college is in Laguna Beach Just BEWARE of the Las Brisas hotel in Laguna beach, it is overpriced and gross!!! I am not really familiar with the hotels in Dana Point, but if you happen to find a hotel/s you like I could go investigate it for you before you book, since Dana point is not far from me at all.

I'll be out there with my MINI at the end of April. There is going to be an SCMM event starting from Dana Point. I'll be attending.

Dave,
PM me. I am the Systems Mgr at the St Regis in Monarch Beach (actually in Dana Point). If you want to stay at a 5 star property, this is the one to be at.

Dave--

The EDGEWATER INN (used to be a Holiday Inn Express) on the Coast Hwy is right across from the beach, has very nice rooms, is just south of Dana Point proper (in what us "old timers" call Capistrano Beach), and is about $125 per night at most [if memory serves me right].

I grew up in Dana Point (and lived in southern Orange County for YEARS), but am now living over here in Englewood (my condo overlooks John Elway Toyota on Arapahoe). The Edgewater would put you only about 10 minutes from the center of Dana Point, and only 15 minutes from San Juan Capistrano (which is where the Ortega Highway emerges into OC from it's snakey, twisty journey from Elsinore).

I don't have a Mini (yet), but looked at them at RS's the other day. Impressive little vehicles. Reading the posts has been fun.

Have fun in southern Orange County!

Kent
