Any prizes for the best run-flat time?
If you do really, really good, you get to buy a set of new non-run-flats.

Well, runflats qualify as streets, and there is a roaming prize up for grabs. i.e. THe spanking paddle.

If that prize had been offered in San Diego last time I think Joe (curv872) would have won.

If you look at that sheet, Matt and HP were the only ones driving new MINIs. Most of the rest of us were driving Minis, and Paul was driving a mini.

He will definitely be taking the top prize in a BRG on street tires mounted on S-Lites driven by a Fijian category.

Here is my update for the morning... Smini is getting new soles on some old shoes ... and while my son is no longer going with me, I am bringing a friend who is a long time BMW guy (though, inexplicably, he does not own one now ). In fact his very first car was a beater '68 1600 that he restored to an awesome condition, selling it for $3800.00 in 1982!

Ken and I cannot wait... Is anyone else heading down on Friday and maybe catching the Padres vs. Giants?

Garth

Those look like Rotas. Why the switch? I really liked your other wheels. Or is this a "dedicated" set? Ha, ha? What rubber did you decide on?

They are a lightly used set of 15x7 Rota Slipstreams (Graphite with the polished lip) and are autocross only. I still have my Rewinds. The Slipstreams are roughly 12 lbs and the Rewinds are 14.6 lbs each, so about a 10 lbs reduction in unsprung weight.

I picked up a set of used 205/50 R15 V710s

You got that right!

I thought everything was friendly.

I'll knock down my part of the rhetoric a notch or two, but it was all just meant in fun.

It is, it is. I am just yanking the proverbial chain. I am actually glad to see people taking this seriously. I know of quiet a few people who have gotten wheels, tires, other mods, etc. Hell I had the suspension on Angelina redone myself. It should make for an interesting and competitive Saturday. As we used to say back in the day: "If you can't run with the Big Dogs, stay home."
