Can we just show up and watch? If so, do you know the times the Minis will be running?

First car out should be aroun 9 AM and it should go until about 4:30 give or take. The cars will be randomly put into the four run groups, so MINIs should be out on course throughout the event.

Did anyone see my slippers ( Quicksilver) at the event? I believe I left them where we all sat around. Next to the pink chairs. Let me know if anyone seen them.

thanks

Oh, man, I saw them, but I didn't grab them, since I didn't know who they belonged to. Sorry.

I am tired and drunk, so the pictures are unedited and the web page is not working as it's supposed to, but here is a link:

Auto X pictures

I will put up some videos as soon as Google processes them.

Charlie,

You got second place and a trophy. Next time in SD make sure you pick it up. You can also contact Gordon via e-mail and he'll make sure it's there for you. Go to their website sdbmwcca.com of his e-mail addy.

I ended up with fast BMW time of the day only to find out during the awards that Mini's aren't BMWs so they gave that trophy to a M Modified guy.

Other than that dissapointment, I had a blast. The F1 simulators were cool, hanging with the Mini crowd was cool and whooping up on the M Modifieds was cool.

Once again, a good time was had by all (except maybe the red M3, ouch).

Aside from the unfortunate M3 crash (this was only the second auto-x crash at a BMW event in 22 years...the other being a minor fendor bendor), I had loads of fun.

It was great meeting everybody and I'm glad you guys made the trek down from LA. Congratulations on the great time Rory!!! Until we all meet again, I'll see all you all on the boards.

Joe

Charlie was running some nice sticky 60 treadwear Yoko Advans 215/45R17.

Charlie, sorry I didnt pick up your trophy, all of us L.A. folks left in a hurry, and didnt stick around for prize giving :(.

Jimmy, thanks for posting that vid of me creating my own autocross course. Email me the full version of the vid if you can. THanks.

Glad you all had a good time.

Joe, was nice meeting you.

Here are the videos I shot with my digital. There is a lot of quality degration (pixalation, can't see the far away cones) which is not present on the original videos. If anyone wants a copy I can set up a download link. They are about 28mb each. Hope you like it:

Teresa's first three runs. She got her times down to 82.05 before the BMW crash and the course change.

Rory's run. I only got one of his. He ended the day with a time of low 75's.

Hey guys... Howdy...

To the person that asked about tires Matt is right, Yoko Advan R048 215/45/17 (offset +42mm)

Matt / Rory - Thanks for the heads up on the trophy - I will go back down again sometime soon, had a blast. Much nicer with a longer course and elevation changes than what I have done at other autocrosses.

Sorry been off the boards getting up at 3AM was hard enough, but after driving back to L.A., I went curling until 10PM and had to help set up which included moving about 50 stones that weigh 42 lbs each !!!

this morning I feel like a train ran over me

Best,

- Charlie

Cool vid Jerry (mine Teresa :-)). That was my first lap of the day with an instructor that wouldn't get out of the car after his "show me the track" drive.
