I had missed this thread until now.
I'm (belatedly) excited about the Cooper commemorative.
My first reading made me think of Cooper formula cars.
Then I realized, duh, that if MINIs were included that would mean sponsorship money from BMW.
Great photo-op if every MINI at Laguna Seca did a lap!
I wonder if the Pebble Beach folks will be able to relate to this.
In the past they have co-featured marques such as Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Mercedes, etc. (what's an etc.?).
Wouldn't it be fun to see a BMW 328 or an Austin Mini in the winner's circle at Pebble Beach? It wouldn't be Falaschi & Figoni but these were significant cars.
Has Laguna Seca honored such a popular marque as this before?
This will be FUN!

I have a 1969 Morris Mini and a 2002 MINI Cooper and something like this just doesn't happen every day!!
I just got the Mini out of the shop, just to have things checked out and it's ready to go.
Come Monday morning and the Starting Flag drops, I'm going to be a road trip of a life time. Lime Rock here I come!!!

Let's watch for the mailman.
All tickets/passes mailed out yesturday except those who were signed up for the Sat NorCal MINI run and/or have made other arrangments with me.
Encluded in the mailing was parking instructions and a list of events for Laguna Seca. I will be sending an e-mail with a list of all the other events I know of in the Monterey area for that weekend.
We are still offering Corral Passes up to and during Monterey Historics.
See you there!

For All MINI/Minis signed up with corral passes, there will be MINI/Mini parade laps around Laguna Seca Raceway for both Saturday and Sunday. These are scheduled for 12:25-12:45 on Saturday and 12:10-12:25 on Sunday. Those are scheduled times, subject to change depending on how events & conditions on the track are going. Owners should be with their cars and ready to go 15 minutes ahead of posted times to maximize track time and be prepared for delays if track needs to be cleared from previous race.
The parade laps will lead out of the gate from the paddock to the track near Turn 5. We will head up the hill towards turn six and then to the corkscrew. Be sure to have a “clean” Mini, big smile, and your camera.
Gary Anderson & Barry Brazier of MC2 Magazine will be directing the parade laps

I'd make sure you are ready 15 minutes before parade lap time. As long as you are ready, I don't see any problem. Do you have a corral pass?
Also for any of you staying over for MTTS, Rob Saunders (REME) is organizing a dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp CO. at 6:30. All are welcome. If you want to join in, please conatct Rob @ rsaunders68@comcast.net . He is handling the reservations.

Gary & Barry of MC2 are "directing" the parade laps. I am sure they won't have any problems. Any problems with the "vendor village"?
I too salute Carol Witt of Nor Cal, she has done a great job with the tickets and corral passes.
