I sent out the Julian Event info to everyone in the MINI USA's Owner's Network in CA with an e-mail listed. I got about 18 responses that want to join SCMM and about 5 of those are going to attend this event! There are always no-shows, but I think we're pushing 40 MINIs here folks! Come and see- you should not miss this! I'll be driving over 400 miles on Saturday to participate, so don't tell me, "But it's too far". It will be worth it! JOIN US!

Hope to see you all there. Make sure you fill out an application form and submit your dues to us to officially join SCMM on Saturday! Can you say "largest car club in the country for the new MINI"?

LET'S MOTOR!!!!

40 MINIs in the Julian Run? WOW!!! Great news, Tracy! Hehehehehe...Julian is in for an impromptu MINI parade! Everyone bring their digicams and I hope SOMEONE has a digivideocam! We need to get some cool shots in the twisties!

BTW, Tracy is too modest to add it to her sigline, but she is the FOUNDER and PRESIDENT of SCMM (SoCal MINI Maniacs)!!! She's been working feverishly to get our website up, so watch for the big announcement!

Cheers!

>>Clover, there are 35 MINIs and one expectant owner. If you recall Ed (COOLBRZ) he lost his first baby on the sunkin car carrier. Ed ,me and a few others will be at Pala Casino for breakfast and will be waiting for anyone who shows up early.

Clover, make that 2 expectant owners, my wife is over 7 months preggers and we will be loving every minute of it. jceviche - When and where are you departing San Diego area?? If it wasn't much of a reach thought we might hook up for the run to the stageing area. We are departing from Eastern Chula Vista.

Tee hee! Good one, Doug! For those unfamiliar, Julian is a quaint little mountain town in SoCal, in San Diego county. It has a cute little Main Street area chock-full of curio shops and is home to the famous Dudley's Bakery! And...Julian is famous for it's apples! Mmmmmm....apple pie, babies!

...and the list just keeps getting bigger and bigger...

For those of you that still need directions to either the outlett center or to Pala Casino, just click the email link in my sig and let me know!

Weather for tomorrow is saying a high of 63, which should be a VERY nice break from this record breaking heat that we have been having . Also, don't forget the radios, if you have them. I think that we will probably have a few extras to share with the group, but not enough for everyone!

I've got the battery in the laptop all charged up as well, so those of you with limited memory on your digital cameras are welcomed to take advantage of the extra storage space. just be sure to bring your cable!

I look forward to finally meeting all of you. This is gonna be fun!!!!!

no camera for me, but I do have 2 brand new radio's, bringing my laptop to store photos on, and I'll be wearing my brand new MINI hat. Do I qualify for *geek* status?

IMHO, aren't we all kinda geeky for even being here? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that! There's worse things then being a geek!

Believe me, with those all MINI's around I'm gonna fill up my memory cards real fast!!!

Had to clean up my first bird dropping off my car...figures, I just washed it last night! Good thing it was a small bird!

So, batteries are charging and car is clean...now what? The waiting begins!

I'm off to pick out some good driving cd's...

Lates.

Well, I had fun on the twisty's (lots of them). Even made my **** pucker once !!!

Unfortunatly we couldn't go to the lunch as I had some other things I had to take care of so we bugged out at the turnoff for Harrah's and went back home.

Quite a site with the line of 42 (that's how many I counted, more? less?) Mini's.

Who won the raffle?

Next time I'm just bringing one other body with me. My daughters friend just added too much weight (read dead) to my car

Had fun!!

Well, what can I say...today was great! I just watched the video and my co-poilot/cameraman/husband got some great footage of some of the twisties. The comments from him where esp. funny...to me anyway..."you're gonna lose it the turn...you're gonna slide out and hit a tree!" Phisha! My lil MINI proved him wrong everytime! Even though I did leave some rubber a few times...it was great! (for me)

Thanks everyone for being so nice...today has changed my general opinoin of MINI owners!

Can't wait for the next meet! What a hoot!

I would like to say thanks to all who participated in the Julian Run, 40 plus MINIs. Nice to see some of the familiar faces once again as well as meeting new faces, there too many to mention and they are all great people for sure. While going thru the twisties, wow I saw a lot of potential Solo II champions. Heheh! I hope you guys had a great time and will see you again on the next MINI meet.

Thanks, John for organizing this one! Another smashing success Lottsa MINIs and lottsa curves....boy do they go well together. I was really floggin' Brooksie thru some of the Mt. Palomar nadgery bits - even had a dice with Tracy from Diamond Racing! This is the first run I've been on in a long time where the slower ( read non-MINI ) drivers would actually pull over and let me by... Were they polite or scared? Sean drove his 'S' on its maiden run, and Chris rode shotgun...mom's gotta reign that boy in a little! All he could say was how much he loved his "S'!! Wandered around Julian, saw lotta new MINI folk, and some old MINI friends, like Rick and Dave from the very first MINI lunch, it seems so long ago now. Everyone swapped ideas and stories, and then at the lunch at Harrah's, I won a MINI snow globe in the raffle! Cewl!! My regular computer is down for repairs, so I'll post pics soon, when its up. Thanks again to everyone who came, I'm sure it was fun for them as well.

BCNU,
Rob in Dago

Thanks everyone, for making the Julian Run such a success! 42 cars exceeded our expectations. The more the merrier!

Thanks, John for mapping out an entertaining route!

I noticed that everyone was driving slower after the pie shop stop!
