The thing that really gets to me is with all the MINI dealerships in the Greater Los Angeles/Orange County area, you would think they'd COMPETE for our business by offering top-notch service!
For example, I had a really good experience last Friday at Brian Harris MINI in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. sndwave needed to do the 2 service bulletins and Inspection I on his BLU MENE. I asked him to contact them and see if they could squeeze Wanda in at the same time for an interim oil change, her interior passenger doorhandle de-tweaked, and a pre-Dragon check-up. They graciously did so.
We got there when they opened and waited while the work was done (greedily snapping up one of each of the free cool brochures). One of the BMW salesmen even offered to take us out to lunch if our MINIs were still being serviced at lunchtime! We were NOT treated like the poor little stepchildren to the Bimmers, at all! The visit was professional, friendly, and efficient....as they ALL should be.
Brian Harris MINI is the only MINI dealership within a large area. Why is it that they can treat us so well and the SoCal dealerships cannot get it together? This is so disappointing to me.
On a hopeful note, when I spoke via phone with Matt Limburg, my MA at Long Beach MINI, he said that they are busy revamping the service department to improve customer relations. Their sales department is excellent. I will go there for my next service appointment and truly pray that things will go well.

First of all--What the hell are we doing up at this hour?
Secondly. I've received my car back from Nick Alexander MINI. All is good but for the emission recall software reset and the mirror thang. The software reset has cleared all of my 'adaptive driving' memory, so now I have to retrain the car to drive run like I want it to. No biggie.
On to the mirrors. For which I'll make a new post for the benefit of those who may not find the thread in here. See "Mirror paint peeling?"

Well, when I'm roadtripping, my sleep pattern gets even more insomniac than ever! That's my story and I'm sticking with it!
