Still going to Calico

This trip to Las Vegas is to include some site seeing trips as planed by the event coordinators. However as I stated when I started this thread, I planned one more as a precursor and that was to Calico Ghost Town. My wife and I are still planning to stop and spend a few hours there. Our plan so far is to leave the SFV at around 7:00am and arrive in Victorville at the Green Tree Inn (Best Western @ I15/18, easy meet point) for breakfast at around 8:00am. Leaving Victorville at about 9:00am we are off to Calico, a few hours there and then lunch at Peggy Sue's '50s Dinner near by. We should arrive in Las Vegas by early evening.
Again as stated before, anyone wishing to tag along is more than welcome. Please PM and provide email addresses if you wish to join us.

Thanks,
Dave

sounds like a fun trip

Wow that sounds like a great plan. I really would like to see the ghost town but not sure we are going to head out that early.

Sounds like a nice way to get there with lots of stops for streching which I need.

Peggy Sue's is quite small and depending on how many may be a problem . The gas station on the far right has the cheapest gas I have found in CA (at least in the past). Looks like a dump but I have never had problems with the fuel.

since you are leaving early then making a stop maybe we could catch you as your leaving Calico Ghost Town.

Depending on when we get on the road perhaps we can catch up with you all at the ghost town. Of course this is all based on the hope that someday it might stop raining

Didn't you hear?
We're on track for the record books.
Maybe catch up with the "El Niño" years.

There's always marine transportation, we can row our way to Vegas.

I'm going if I have to attach a propeller to my MCS like you see on some pickups like you see around here.

Hey, Agro! Better order bunches of those propeller thingies that Earl mentioned above, so we can navigate through the little rivers in Vegas!

It's supposed to stop raining this weekend. I'm VERY glad we moved the event from Feb to March. We haven't had a single all clear weekend yet this year. Today we should hit our annual average rainfall.

I moved here to get away from this junk!

About the Ontario pit-stop/join-up location...

The Krispy Kreme site has their store located about 1/3 mi west of I-15 off 4th street. Is that right, or is MapQuest confused again?

Spryguy -

Krispy Kreme is about 1/3 mile west of the 15 at 4th St. There is a signal there called Gurnee Ave, where you turn left into the Ontario Mills Mall to an interior road and KK is to the left. Can't miss it!!

So Cal MINI Caravans will be leaving from there at about 9:30 A.M. Thursday, about 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, and at 10:00 A.M. on Friday AFAIK
