Coil Over Install

Hello
I am looking for some help installing my coil overs on 2012 JCW.

I have never installed before, but it does not look too difficult, I am semi mechanically able (just finished heated seats retro install, Cravenspeed SS, Navi screen replace) but I would like to not take all day and learn the little nuances myself and instead learn from someone.

I am willing to pay something that is fair, determined by both parties.

I live in Temecula.

Thanks!
Troy

I can't help you, as I have never done them either. But I will say, that when it does come time, I will be searching the Forum for posts that might already cover this question. Also YouTube. YouTube has taught me a good many things. You just have to be patient and find a good video, sometimes they're quick and not very thorough.

Good luck in your search!

I think lack of reply is that you didn't ask a specific question, just my guess. You might try LXM on facebook (League of Extraordinary Miniacs) to see if anyone is local. Be sure to do some web searching. I take my suspension on and off all the time but its an 03 and Im betting pretty different. If you have aluminum rear trailing arms be VERY careful not to strip the lower damper mount bolt - if you do strip it you can coil it etc. If you like a good puzzle you may be able to do the fronts without a spring compressor (disconnect the swaybar connecting rod, remove the lower mount bolt, remove the strut tower mount bolts and lower the entire assembly hopefully enough to get it out). Most manuals cover remove/install of struts. good luck!

To do the job correctly and safely, you will need to get spring compressors to disassemble your suspension. Other than that, a good set of tools and some elbow grease should get you most of the way there. The last piece of the puzzle is alignment, and if you're really doing it right, corner weighing the car.
