Cool dave - reason for posting was just for general clubs looking at possibly getting insurance...SCCA will be by far a better choice for a small local chapter and trying to get something as your own policy as you discovered is a waste of time.

I still do not see any real reason to pay $25 to be a part of SCMM, what if I just want to come hang out and do not want the t-shirt or sticker, do i still have to pay?

I don't really know how you're going to find out about the SCMM events if you don't join (i.e. pay $25). By joining you get on the club e-mail list for upcoming events.

In the end it's only $25 we're talking about here. Even if I didn't want the stuff I'd still pay the money rather than leach off of a club (not pay) but still go to their events.

Exactly what is it that you are trying to accomplish by this thread? It doesn't seem you are open to SCMM at all. If you are here to accomplish something constructive, then by all means, make some valid points... If not, then I suggest we discontinue this thread...

If ZeroCool has been to the SCMM website, http://www.scmm.org and is not interested in joining after reading all the benefits, that is certainly his choice. I'm sure he can find other ways to meet MINI owners for casual drives.

This thread has answered just about every possible question, so I'm locking it.
