san diego meet and greet?
i know there is already a southern california chapter of mini owners here and i'm not trying to infringe on anyones turf or make waves, but los angeles ain't san diego and neither is orange county for that matter. they are more than an hour or two away (when the traffic isn't bottled up), so i was just wanting to drive a few miles around here and thinking of an informal get together of san diego mini owners to take place at mission bay park off I-5 and the clairemont drive exit.
anybody interested? if so, post here and we can set a time. even if it's just a few cars it might be fun. maybe we can even get a regular thing going on down here.

Hi miniGato,
Just moved to San Diego in May and would like to meet some of my fellow MINI and MCO enthousiasts. Only caveat is that my wife is going to have a baby any day now, so it's hard for me to commit to anything right now. No promisses, but if you plan something and post it, I'll do my best to be there.

Hi, miniGato!
I live in Los Angeles, but visit my parents in La Jolla almost monthly. I really like the San Diego members of SCMM, and think that plenty of them would be interested in some sort of more formal local group.
BTW, I'm moving this thread to the Southern California forum.
Cheers!

 We'll be checking the So Cal threads to see what's happening out there....
Chow! And see you all soon...

well moving this thread here will probably kill most chances that people will read it. most of the traffic on this site is in the main forum (which is why i posted it there in the first place) and many san diego readers might never check this forum simply because they just assume that southern california = los angeles.
color me disappointed :???:

Oh no, it's quite the opposite really!
Maybe you should start a San Diego Thread in the So Cal Thread

Its good to hear there's Mini Cooper owner in San Diego. I too lived in San Diego but don't have a mini yet. I got an Evo VIII though. I'd loved to go to your mini meet anytime you guys would do it. I'm still in the market for a Mini Cooper w/CVT for my wife. Hopefully I get one soon for MSRP.
>>I'm a miner, I'll go down. keep me posted.
BCNU,
Rob in Dago
Hey Rob, I didn't know that there were any mines left in the San Diego area. Is it a coal mine or maybe a gold mine? In one you get dirty, in the other you get dirty rich.
Just pulling your plonker...Ron.

Hi All,
jimskater and I are planning a fun get-together on Sunday, Sep 28th for Trivia Night at Shakespeare's Pub.
The pub holds trivia nights on the last Sunday of every month. Jim and I are planning a drive starting in the early afternoon and arriving at the pub by 5ish so we can all get parking. (Parking starts to become very scarce around 5:30). Once there, we will have a leisurely dinner while we wait for the Trivia contest to start at 7pm. The contest is usually over and graded by 9pm.
Teams are in groups of 6 or less, so if we have a large group we will be competing against each other. The winning team gets a $50 gift certificate to use at the pub, and the second place team gets $35 (I think that's the amount). The trivia covers all manner of things, but has some emphasis on All Things British. If you enjoy Trivial Pursuit, this is for you!
If you'd like to join the run, please email Jim so we can get a head count. Hope to see you there!
