Well, yet another awesome SCMM event! 45 MINI's invaded the hills of East County San Diego to motor up to the Menghini Winery in Julian for their annual Grape Stomp! Besides the heat, I'm pretty sure that everyone had a great time! It was great as usual to see all of the familiar faces as well as meet some of the newest members.

annual grape stomp?!? How cool! I often go to Julian just to get away but don't know anything about the events there. Sorry I missed it! I'll be joining the club as soon as I get my Mini. :smile:

 

yea, this one was new for me too. The big todo up in Julian is coming up in october or november. That's apple season and the big apple festival goes on. Makes me hungry for apple pie!

Can you imagine having to live in Julian? Nothing but twisty mountain roads that never even allow you to get into 6th gear, you can count the number of straight-a-ways on one hand (a brief moment to see if 6th still works!), very little traffic during the week and law enforcement usually nowhere in sight (and you soon learn where to expect to see them). I must tell you as a full time resident up here it is a major burden! By the way, Mike Menghini is a also a car nut and drives a turbo Audi TT Cabriolet and also has some very nice antique cars that he drives in the annual Fourth of July parade. We are just now kicking off Apple Days and the trees will be displaying their fall colors soon, so come on up and have a slice of apple pie!
