Will be in New Orleans area with a MCS and am looking for a road to let her stretch out a bit and perhaps to even see something scenic. Ideas?

Take the River Road - it's Hwy 18 -- from New Orleans take the Huey Long Bridge over to Algiers - you'll be on Hwy 90 - follow it around and take a left onto Hwy 18 or the River Road. It's really curvey ! when you get tired of driving past 180 year old plantations, you can turn right and cross over the Missippippi and hit IH 10 to return to New Orleans.

But the best thing to do is take your MINI to the French Quarter or the Garden District. Those small roads and close buildings are a perfect background for the european look of the MINI! You'll be turning some heads for sure!!

heck if you want an adventure, just drive on any interstate in NewOrleans. I lived there all my life and the people there drive like they are nuts.

I'm planning another trip to NOLA!

So does anyone have any road ideas to share ???
I can use MapQuest and find my way if I have the HWY numbers!

Check out this site.
LA Scenic Byways
If you're looking to see the sites, the highways that take you along River Road (lots of planatations) and south of New Orleans (swamps and bayou) would be most interesting. Not a lot of twisties around here, but a few nice two-lane roads on these routes.

Here's my reccomendations from the site:
Lafourche/Terrebonne and Bayou Teche Scenic Byways
River Road Scenic Byway

Louisiana Scenic Bayou, Promised Land, Tunica Trace and San Bernardo Scenic Byways are all close to New Orleans, but go North, which is the "country" lots of trees, a few little towns.
