Now that Pilo has come out with a short shifter kit that is more in line pricewise with what I can justify to the wife, I'm very tempted. However, I've never sat in the drivers seat of a MINI equiped with a short shifter (nor any other kind of car either) and I don't know if it's for me.
Is there anyone around the Las Vegas area, or who is driving to or through Vegas in the near future with a short shifter who would be willing to let me sit in your drivers seat for a couple of minutes? The engine doesn't even have to be running!

Thanks.

Are you kidding me....

you bought a 20 odd K car and you cant buy a 50 dollar mod that makes the car feel as if it were meant to be that way from its inception. you already did the pulley so you all in now.

you need this. NOW dont ***** foot around, you can install it yourself before the wife even knows it got delivered.

go get it and may i suggest the 37% from out motoring.

Nevermind...

"This simple extension made by Helix reduces the throws by 37% making gear changes a breeze."

I used the B&M myself. Helix definitely seems like it'd be a much simpler install.

My problem isn't the money. My issue is that I've never driven a car with a short shifter and I don't know what it feels like. From what I've read, the install can be a ***** (but not always, I know) and if I'm going to spend 1/2 a day under the car, I want to make sure it's something that I actually want.
