Not quite what you are looking for, but I visited them in May of 2002 and was refused a test drive unless I first signed the contract to BUY a car.... The salesman was very nice, but very firm. No testrides unless I sign the contract first.

I called and placed my order with MINI of Nashville literally from the parking lot of Desert MINI that day.....

Don't pay over MSRP, there are far too many good dealers selling at MSRP to do so. You won't find any selling under MSRP so give up on that one....

It's really hard to believe there aren't some dealers out there who will give a discount from MSRP. If they have cars available and you try to negotiate it just makes sense you'll get a discount.

I ordered my MC last July and got a $350 discount off MSRP..and free floor mats and a boot box and car cover at dealer cost, (returned the POS $197 outdoor car cover that I paid $118 for). I wouldn't have wanted it if it was free. Anyway, I didn't accept the "no discount" initial attiude of the dealership and it saved me over $500 when you count all the discounts.

Getting a discount from MSRP might be a challenge, but it can be done.

And trying is fun.

Wow -- that is great to hear; I'm planning on paying a bit below sticker but am going to try and haggle a few extras (like you R.E.)!!

Greetings Erik. I ordered and bought my MINI from Desert and would NOT recommend them. I've heard good things about Murray in Utah and Scottsdale in Pheonix, and there is a group buy going on right now from the Ohio dealer, where the truck will be going through Vegas on the way to LA.
In the months between when I 1st went into Desert and when I got my car, I had 5 different MAs. One of the members of the Sin City MINI Club bought her car in Tennessee and had a relative drive it to Vegas. Buying her cousin a plane ticket back to TN was less than the markup from Desert.
Anyway, come down the the Crown and Anchor Pub tomorrow (monday 3/1/04) and meet some other MINI owners.

>> I heard the mini dealer in Scottsdale won't get you what you want but rather...you have to take what they have...??

I think you heard wrong. You order your car from MNS. They rarely have any floor models for sale. They don't get enought from MINIUSA to keep any on the floor, hence the wait-list they have. In my opinion, the wait-list is worth waiting to get EXACTLY the car and options you want and also get it for MSRP. They're awesome there!

Erik, you don't have to currently own a MINI to join. A number of members are recent buyers, and may have advice for you on your purchase. Anyway, come on down to the Crown and Anchor tonight.
