Hey everyone, since I'm coming up from Jacksonville, I need to take I-95 to I-75. I'll need a "hook up" spot on the I-75 section of the trip, I believe. Just over the GA border there is an outlet mall. Perhaps we can meet at Cracker Barrell there. Breakfast? I'll bring enough walkie-talkies for everyone for the remainder of the caravan. That should help us stay together. Let me know what you think.

Hey Kat! This sounds good to me... Adam and I will get together soon to discuss what time we'll be leaving and all... I am getting so excited!!

 

I am too. This will be my first outing in the new Mini. I'm willing to take on a passenger as well. But they'd have to be a back seat co-pilot, since my husband is also going. Felicity can't wait to show off. It's what she does best! She doesn't mind the nose prints on her windows, not one bit!

I could meet the caravan off I-75. There's an exit/entrance at the I-275/I-75 junction. Exit #274. What do you think? I'll be starting the trip early Thursday morning.

kesh is from st. petersburg. do either of you know a good place to meet at the intersection of I-75 and I-4? that seems like it would be the best place to meet, i think.

let me know what you come up with. once i get the word from you guys, i'll work backwards with holly and figure out what time we need to leave, so we can figure out what time to meet everybody at their respective locations.

I can't wait!!! Mountian roads and a MINI, this should be a blast!!!! I was out yesterday shopping for coolers so I could bring my favorite adult beverage along for the talks around the camp fire (don't forget this is a dry county so BYOB).

I'll be leaving Jax and heading up 95 to 16 which will take me over to Macon and 75, not sure what time I'll be getting on the road so as we get closer I'll let you know.

There is a Shoneys at 275/75 and a Cracker Barrel about 1 mile West of the I4/75 junction. I was just thinking the 275/75 junction at County Line Rd would be better since I wouldn't have to travel extra miles West to get to 75. Take a look at a map and take your pick.

Holly, Let me know what time you could be at either of those places and I'll let you know if I can meet you.

 

the 275/75 it is then. kesh, if you plan to go as well, how does that work with you?

it'd be nice not to have to make a bajillion stops.

(hehe, i can drink coke in less than six days!!!)

Okay...now am I totally wrong, or is the 275/75 junction near Lutz? Over towards Pasco Co., right?? If it is, this is going to be majorly out of the way for us to meet.

I'm still thinking the best place will be where the turnpike meets up with 75...

yeah, holly and i are going to get together on friday the eighteenth to plan the route and the rest of the stuff for the trip.

we will be driving up on may 1st for deal's gap. (i guess i should have clarified this earlier)

it doesnt really matter to me where we meet, as long as i get breakfast somewhere along the way, heehee.

I think you should develop the chicken poxs or something (at least tell that to work) so you can drive up to the mountains! Heck, the whole week of the event I'm not getting paid, since I'm officially out of work until the 5th.

yeah vince it's gonna be pretty early. we're hoping to get up there sometime around seven or eight so we can all have dinner together.

there's a meeting tonight in the chat for everybody staying in the party cabin at deals gap.

holly and i will be meeting tomorrow to discuss the route, as well as scheduled stops and picking up people and such, we'll let you know what we come up with after that.

 

alright guys, holly and i had our trip planning meeting and this is what we came up with.

i'll meet holly in winterhaven at around 6:45. we'll load up Dolly and hop on the polk expressway to i-4, then get on i-75.

kesh and orbhot (and any lurkers who want to meet up with us then...) we'll meet you guys at the cracker barrel at the intersection of i-275 and i-75 at 7:45am.

moving right along, i emailed katherine about the meeting place for her. i think it would be best if we met somewhere at i-10 and i-75. at 10:00am. i'm going to call clo tonight and see if she wants to caravan with us.

minimotorin, i sent you a pm. do you wanna caravan with us? you know how to get ahold of me if you do.

so, if everything works out: it will be dolly (holly and myself), orbhot, kesh420, minimotorin, katkrenn, sndwave, miniclo, and yuccapatrol. plus anybody else who decided to hop on our bandwagon! if there's anybody coming that wants to go, just talk to me and well get you hooked up!

 

Sounds good. See you at 7:45am the Crapper Barrel, Thur May 1st. I assume we'll be just meeting there, not haning out and eating. I plan on eating breakfast before, or on the road.
Should be lots of fun! I'll have my FRS/GMRS on 7 sub 11. Bringing lots of spare batteries too.

it'll be great to have another mini at the meet. motorcycles are cool, but mini's are definitely cooler...well, at least i think so.
