Gallery of member cars, standard format?
I wonder if there is any interest in asking the site administrators to set aside a forum for member's cars? I know there is the photo gallery, and many members have photos of their cars there, but they are not in a consistent format, nor do many have details.
I'm thinking of a standard format to include a photo (640x480 say), a description of the car including OEM options and any mods, and a narrative from the owner regarding the car, the mods or the experience, limited to say 300 words. Only one post per car, which is the first post, and editable for updates.
I've seen this format on bicycle forums that I've contributed to for years, and it seems missing here. I was inspired by the article in MCsq of MSFITOY's car, and seeing other cars at AMVIV III.
Can we do this?
cheers, phil

This is really more than a forum. It really is a directory, of sorts, for member cars. It is something that I have been thinking about but will require some significant development time. Here is a site that I've been looking at relative to how they do it. The interesting thing about this particular site is that you could enter a search for the model, way its spec'd, and see all members that meet this criteria. That might be interesting for our members.
All that said I don't anticipate having any significant development time available until late summer at this point (likely after the MINIs in the Mountains event).

Well, you're the founder of the NAM, so I spoke to the right person! I was thinking more like this bicycle site: http://www.londoncyclesport.com/bikes.html
but that VW site has all the bells and whistles (searchable, lots of details, lots of photos, etc.)
I know that time is the most limiting resource, but good luck if you can make it happen.
I hosted a bicycle gallery on my own server which didn't require me doing much at all: http://gandini.unm.edu/PublicShare/Giants.htm
cheers Mark!

A searchable registry would be a great addition!

Here is an example of a gallery of NAM cars that I can host. If you are interested, send me a photo (max horizontal 800, max vertical 480, preferred 640x480 pixel image, otherwise I will resize in PS.) and the details as per my example. I would encourage you to include a narrative as it is more than simply details and mod specs.
