On my computer at work the animated smilies are animated as they are supposed to be but at home (on 2 different computers) they don't move. I am sure there is something checked or unchecked in my IE options but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is. How can I get my smilies moving at home

 

Mine don't move while composing messages but they do work correctly when the post is complete. The only thing I can think of is that there is a setting in IE that allows you to animate GIF images or not. That said I'm pretty sure I've never seen the option in the menus.

Make sure "Play animations in web pages" is checked in the
Multimedia section of the Advanced tab. That should fix it.

 

Use Firefox and watch the smilies dance and frolic.

 

Tried Firefox wasn't for me

I have "play animations in web pages checked" I have been thru the list & I just can't figure it out. I run Zone Alarm Pro firewall on both my home computers but I also run it at my work computer (where the smilies do dance) & the settings seem to be the same. UGH it's not big deal but I just love to see the little laughing smilies bob up & down

 

Just in case anyone else is having trouble with the smilies not being animated...I think I have figured out my problem. I was playing around with my Zone Alarm Pro Firewall on my work computer (my work computer is the only one I use of 3 where the smilies move & I have Zone Alarm on all 3 puters) & I was able to stop the animation & restart it so here is what I think is causing my smiles to be still on my other 2 computers...the setting for my firewall Ad Blocking is set to block:
1) Banner & Skyscraper Ads
2) Pop Up & Pop Under Ads
3) Amination

So I went in & customized that setting to block #1 & #2 but allow #3 & taadaa my smilies are moving.
