Proposal for Convertible/Cabrio Forum

A convertible forum is needed here. There are plenty of unique issues to talk about compared to the hard tops. Seems like our convertibles are kind of dismissed as not worthy of discussion by the hardtop/performance click. MINI2 has one that is quite active but they are mostly European posts. Let's get our own for us northumerikun's!!

For Us Convertible Owners......
It would be nice to have a thread of JUST convertible owners.

It doesn't matter if it's Cooper or Cooper S

It would also be nice to see any mods done to your convertible
Inside/Outside/Engine/Bling
A brief description would help too..

Pictures are Imperative,

thanks everyone
let the fun beggin

regards,
Charles

Open to it
Give it up for the Convertibles and cabrio, whatever your term.
They have tried this before but nothing came from it.
And how much bling is a factor, unless your like the blacked out look?

It won't be long till the top can be down. Unless you live in a warm climate like SoCal or Florida.

The high is 56 today in Alabama (only 40's coming this weekend ). Can't wait til it is warm enough to take the top down

Sorry I am not into modding very much but I would love to chat with other Convertible owners

I am with bamatt regarding mods... I haven't done any yet, but I am very satisfied with my MINI as is.

I think that would be a good idea.

I'm going out in a couple of hours just to remove the snow build-up on the soft-top.

Now that the Cabrio Talk forum is up, my gripe is that it's almost just like the Mini2 forum - it seems everyone wants to discuss:
- how great it is to motor topless
- roof wear issues!
- how would *blank* look?

Serious lack of discussion when it comes to performance. I appreciate the moderators moving some threads into the Cabrio Talk forum, but in particular, the threads having to do with Performance Mods (Drivetrain and Suspension) that are convertible-specific have not been moved. Cat-back exhausts and the lack of SS+ suspension are unique to the convertibles. May I suggest moving those threads over to the Cabrio Talk forum, or creating a sub-forum exclusively for convertible-related mods?

I think it would help out the moderators a lot if you could list which threads should be moved. I have the impression that creating the Cabrio forum must be a process of manually scanning to find the appropriate threads, and only the more obvious ones would have been easy to identify. I am sure that the same situation also continues to exist for the non-S performance forum that was also created relatively recently.

I did a quick search and found about 20-25 performance related cabrio threads in Performance Mods Drivetrain and Performance Mods Suspension. Those threads now reside in Cabrio Talk.

If you have any other threads not already in Cabrio Talk that should be there, drop us a link or report a post in the thread and leave a notice that the thread needs to be moved to Cabrio Talk.
