This may be nitpicking, but I'll ask anyhow.

Is there a way to get the post counter on the profile page for each user? When responding to PM's this is useful to me - I don't know about anyone else. If I'm not familiar with the username, I like to get a gauge for the frequency of their use, newness to the site, etc.

I know how to get the information through a search and a few relatively quick clicks, but it would be helpful to have all that info in one consolidated place.

Even though this may not rank high on your list, it is probably easy!

Or instead of an actual post count, many sites designate your status as something like Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum...etc., based on participation. A little icon that appears next to the name would work.

If I were to implement a gold, silver, platinum type of level what would the number of posts be to reach each level? What levels should we use? I would prefer something MINI-related if that made sense (perhaps a 1st thru 6th gear, including neutral). In addition, I would display the total number of posts as well. Thoughts?

Personally, I would just prefer to have post count and a Month/Year for when people joined.

That would make it easier to tell who has been here since the early days, plus it wouldn't require adjusting the # of posts required for 1st through 6th gear later on down the road.

2nd Gear 51-150 posts
3rd Gear 151-300 posts
4th Gear 301-600 posts

600 posts and still in 4th gear? I thought MINI was demanding we keep our babies under 4500 for the break-in period. I think 600 is pushing it.

Great job, and a nice touch - but it's going to be a REALLY long time before most of us get to 5th or 6th gear. We're not all L.Mini, that's for sure. I'm usually at the coffee machine, not the keyboard! I can't keep up with her.

I agree with SkAlex about the length of time. I know it's not a race (or is it?) - but positive feedback is positive feedback. It may be frustrating for some to be stuck in the middle gear ranges for so long. After all, the analogy to "gears" somewhat reflects on our driving!!! Remember, every single one of us is obsessed.

How do you feel about:

On Ramp: 0-99 posts
1st Gear: 100 - 199 posts
2nd Gear: 200 - 299 posts
3rd Gear: 300 - 399 posts
4th Gear: 400 - 499 posts
5th Gear: 500 - 599 posts
6th Gear: 600 - 699 posts
Floored: 700 - 999 posts
Race-Bred Champion 1,000+ posts.

Over to you.......

Great site Mark. I just got 2 more MCOL tees in the mail.
But it is 51F in Florida. How about a long sleeve model to go
with the season? I thought I saw ICE on the road tonight.

In FLORIDA????

By the way, I do agree that a long sleeve t-shirt would be great!

For now, the current number of posts for each gear makes sense. However by the summer, MCO may need to swap out this close ratio gear box for something with a little more top end.

For now let's live with the current ratings a bit to see what makes sense over the next couple of months. After another three months we'll likely have to expand the metrics again to give L.Mini credit for her 10,000 post

L must be busy today because right now she is 'officially' behind me.
And look at our start dates....
