NAM running slow???

Am I the only who is having problems with the NAM site running really, really slow? Sometimes I will click on something, and it will just sit until the browser timed out and give me an error. It’s been acting up for the last several days. Does seem to matter if I’m online at home, or at work…..it’s slow everywhere.

Sometimes I'll log on and it will be just fine, but over the last week it's been more slow than "normal" acting.

Anyone else having problems with NAM running extremely slow?

Are you sure it's not your side. Over the past couple of days it's been fine for me. I had some issues a week or so ago. I'm using a home computer, however.
Hasn't been timing or clocking at all on me lately.

Well it's slow at work, slow at home, and even slow when I'm on wi-fi at different location around town.

It's not slow all the time...it's really spotty. Some times it's fine, but then other times it takes me 5 minutes to reply to a post.

From the posts above, it sounds like I'm not the only one having issues.

Post replies do seem a little slow but not 5 minutes. Maybe 40 sec.
I don't remember how fast they used to be.

I've also had this problem, in multiple locations and on multiple machines. Often things will be fine for a while, say 10 or 15 minutes, and then it acts like the server is no longer responding to input.

Yep..I get messaged like "the site you are trying to connect to is not available"...then if I hit refresh a few times, it finally pops up.

So slow on AOL it is useless

I have been using firefox and it is nice and fast until I'm on NAM for a few min then Nam slows and I get a bunch of tiny squares and my computer reboots all by its self.

Nam was always fast and fun until some Idiot decided we need to be on stupid Facebook and smart phones etc. Now it is almost useless on a PC or Mac computer for most of us.

I have no problems with any other site except NAM. It is the only crap site when it comes to using it. All of my other Forum sites work perfect on AOL or Firefox or RR.

I am linking our tech team to your specific post, they made some updates about a week after installing that which was supposed to fix things (and for what I thought was everyone, but at least the vast majority it did), so maybe there needs to be another update done.

Out of curiosity's sake, do you run ad blocker in firefox, and if you filter out (not just hide) those elements, does it effect your load time?

Running slow? Heck, I stopped being able to link to NAM from Saturday morning until this evening. This was the only site I had a problem with.

ad.doubleclick.net is causing the slowdown!

attention ADMIN

forgot to mention in my previuos post, ff is showing me on the staus line:

"waiting for ad.doubleclick.net"

once that advert finally loads, the rest of the page seems to quickly load

i COULD turn adblock plus ON for this site, but i am trying to support NAM by allowing the ads

The servers had some denial of service attacks last week that I know about, I'll see if the tech guys think it's still that or if something else is amiss. And what if anything the ad double click has to do with it.

382 is the last page if you're set to the forum default 25 posts per page, is your screen showing a 383 page that when you click just reloads page 382? The high posts and high pictures and high traffic have caused that thread to need a few page and post recounts.

No problems for me. Is the whole site taking a long time, or is it a sidebar issue, or...?

using firefox, tab screen blank, msg in lower left corner:

"waiting for www.northam....." and will stay like that for 30 seconds to 2 minutes, watching taskmanager/networking shows no network traffic,

then a burst of network activity and whatever page loads

this is only happening on NAM, not other foruns or other web pages
