We need to keep this alive and make a poll somewhere as well. I bet if there was a poll with a link to it on the main page (so people knew the poll existed) the response would be incredible.

 

Here's my obligatory repetitive request for getting the requests of the users fulfilled. Please make this site mobile friendly. I would prefer Tapatalk because that's what I have already. Seems like if you add one, you could add both that and Forum Runner. Please listen to the requests of your users.

 

A solution is on the way, I just haven't had any promises made about the timeline. IB is getting it ironed out on another forum first and then it'll be headed to NAM in very short order. Once I get a timeline it will be posted here, and once we get an app it'll be an announcement, on the front page and in here; I am told Apple and Android will be covered.

 

I sure hope Tapatalk is included in this solution. After all this discussion, I'd hate to have to go buy another app for my iPhone.

 

I've been told that IB is an investor in ForumRunner. If that is true then I would expect to see you use FR here. The other MINI forums (based on their extreme dislike of IB and anything related to IB) will probably drop FR and run Tapatalk exclusively. Good luck!

I use both on other forums as well and like both of them. It's just crazy that neither of them are used on NAM. Another reason I spend little time here and a lot of time over there!!

1. It isn't difficult. Tapatalk is easy to implement.
2. Are you saying it will be free? Having seen Internet Brands and Autoforums in action, I doubt it will. It is called an observation.

 

Exactly what I'm saying and have just confirmed in wirting this afternoon; I do accept paypal. Just because autoforums does something doesn't mean that NAM will.

I'm told from a very reliable source that IB outright bought ForumRunner and has built it into the latest version of vBulletin. It's guessed that they are making a stand alone app for each of their sites to sell instead of one app to be used by all their sites. It's a business for them, not a hobby.....stay tuned!

 

Well according to the MotorOn, this is not the case. There will be no charge for the application.

 

He may be correct. If they are developing an app for each site then each site might have the latitude to do what they want from a revenue perspective. The information from the source also would explain why it is taking some time to get if separate app development is underway. I'll just continue as I have using ForumRunner and Tap-a-Talk elsewhere in the MINI kingdom.

 

I'm finding myself more and more over at Motoring 4lliance whenever I need a MINI fix at work. Tapatalk is the bomb.

Just got a message on my tablet about an official mobile app. I'll have to check it out on my phone, but it sounds like progress in any event.
