Mark,

Is it possible to put a limit on the size of signature images? I think it would be a benefit to MCO itself and forum participants by relieving site bandwidth requirements. Whether its physical size or file size, who knows, whatever would be best for MCO.

Thanks.

I do agree, though right now I have 2 images that EACH ought to be of the acceptable size. But the other will be leaving as soon as my Mini arrives.

Hey, a 64kb file that's 533x328 isn't too big, is it?

If you're actually gonna go ahead and put a restriction on sigs, size should deffinately be the concern...or else you'll end up with otrocities like this (under 12 kb) work of art...

it's my understanding that the current software does NOT permit an imposed size restriction (IMO, COOPERation's sigs should be the standard size).

All that can be done currently is for MARK to edit the users account to remove the signature for REALLY large sigs. With consideration to all that he currently has going on with BMW/MINIUSA/legal/site softeware upgrades/wife/kids/TeamMCO (good gawd, how does he do it? ), a bit of self policing would surely be appreciated.

Dave is correct. The current software doesn't provide any type of automated policing so please just PM when you notice sigs that are large. Actually it doesn't affect the bandwidth consumption of the site since most sigs are coming from other web sites. That said, it still affects the download times of all end users. I would appreciate it if everyone would mod their sigs to no more tha 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels high.

Thanks

Mark

Yeah. Nice to see the MCO gods get their ideas in. I have seen some big nasty sigs lately. I think it would be nice if there were a polite way to let people know that their sigs are two big, rather than turn into a giant flame war that I've seen lately...I got lightly toasted for me formerly over-sized sig and adjusted to avoid future embarassment. It seems to me that people who keep oversized sigs after a public post or two are being rude on purpose...

....my opinions, though...

Now how did you ever get that idea? Did someone's little brother send you a nasty-gram?

Ohhh I don't want to turn them off. I love seing everyone's creative sigs but I would appreciate a little size control . I mean I have seen a few sigs where they once were proper size & then 2 or more badges were added as an afterthought so every time that person with the ginormous sig posts I have to scroll right & left to keep up with the thread . Come on you know who you are either lose the badges or lose something else to get that sig width down
