Most Often Approached Forums

My guess is the 4 forums most often entered are the R53 site, the R56 site, the General Mini site, and the Wheels and Tires site.

How about providing links to these most frequently entered sites at the top of that page where we select the forum we wish to visit. As it stands now, I go to that page, I swing my mouse over and move the right hand slider bar one click for the R56 Forum then return and swing my mouse over again and do 2 clicks for the General Forum, then, same thing again, 2 clicks for the Wheels and Tires forum.

I'd like to go to that page and select my forum of choice without all this computer manipulation. Seems to me this would be easy. It would certainly be appreciated.

Probelm with that is, everyone likes their own stuff. When I jump on NAM I hit the DCMM Forum, R50/53 Interior/Exterior Mods, Off-Topic, and sometimes Marketplace. Since I don't have an R56 I rarly venture in there, unless the newest post looks very interesting by its title. To do this and remain fair, Mark would have to make it so that we can select which ones we want up at the top, which would be a pain.

I created bookmarks to my most-visited subforums as well as the 'new posts' list. One click to each one, no waiting.

Why not just Subscribe to each forum you like--then check your User Control Panel for recent posts on the Subscription List???

I also check out the new posts first, then probably off to the detailing areas and possibly tires and wheels.

Dumb question (I suppose). Where can I click on, "New Posts"? Maybe it's exactly what I'm looking for.

It's not a dumb question.

It's an option <------over there, to the left; Under the Main Menu category....look down that list....find "Forums" under which is "New Posts" or "Buddy List".

Find it?

I can take screen shot and post a pic if you'd like. I know how frustrating it can be to not find something.

I don't consider it a dumb question. Especially since I was on NAM a year before I discovered it

A Year????

I've just discovered that I can "subscribe" to threads w/o having to post a message. For saving topics with "how-to" tips.

Well, this is as good a place as any, since we're asking "stupid" questions.

Is there a simple way to pull up all of the threads that you replied to? I have looked, no avail. Thanks!

Method #1
Click User Control Panel (User CP) on left
Click View All Subscribed Threads

Method #2
Click SEARCH at the top right under the 3 MINIs in the header.

Select Advanced Search

Enter your Username on the right hand box that says---Search by Username

At the bottom left select show results as posts--not threads.

Then click Submit.

or...
If you know one thread you have replied to go to it. In the thread click on your user name & select "find all posts". That will bring up a list of every post you have made starting with newest

Doh! That's right!
Method 1 is only for threads that I have subscribed to, right?
Method 2 is the one I was thinking of.
Thanks!

I did mean a way to find all of the threads that I have posted to, rather than finding my posts.
So, advanced search -> username (show threads) is perfect!

I read your post #8. BUT, you said to save a "forum". I used to be blonde! I just want to save a thread; i.e., the best way to jack up my car so I can rotate the tires.... I've got more than one suggested way to do this "bookmarked". Now that I've survived the first-time PC experience (by the way thanks to your DVD), I'm going to try rotating my tires. Surely hope FLO doesn't fall off the new Harbor Freight floor jack.

Correcto! Now that took me like a year to discover the Search engine.

Cool, yeah, it defaults to threads instead of posts--but the problem is that if you're looking for a specific post--that's buried say in page 3 of 25 pages--you have to scroll through every page looking for that post, so sometimes showing the results as posts is faster--depends on what you're looking for I guess.
